Given :-

Radius of a cylinder = 3.5cm

Height of a cylinder = 12cm

Find :-

Lateral surface area of bucket

Total surface area of open bucket

Solution :-

Lateral surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

2 \times   \frac{22}{7}  \times 3.5 \times 12

 = 264cm^{2}

Hence, The lateral surface area of bucket is 264cm²

Total Surface area of open cylinder = Lateral surface area + area of base or top

2πrh + πr²

πr(2h+r)

 \frac{22}{7}  \times 3.5(2 \times 12 + 3.5)

 \frac{22}{7}  \times  87.5

 = 275cm ^{2}

Hence, The total surface area of open bucket is 275cm²
