A bucket is in the form of a frustum of a cone of height 24 cm with radii of its upper
and lower circular ends are 20 cm and 10 cm respectively. Find the capacity of the bucket
and the area of the metal sheet used in it
thank you

h = 24cm

R = 20 cm

r = 10cm

l = √[(R-r)²+h²] = √10²+24² = √100+576 = √676 = 26cm

Capacity of the bucket = Volume of the frustum

= 1/3×πh(R²+r²+Rr)

= 1/3×3.14×24(20²+10²+20×10)

= 25.12(400+100+200)

= 25.12(700)

= 17584cm³

Area of the metal sheet = CSA of frustum + base area

= π(R+r) × l

= 3.14(20+10) × 26

= 3.14 × 30 × 26

= 2449.2cm²

mohdaamir2283: thanks allot
mohdaamir2283: i dont think you added the base area to the csa
Favaz003: Oh yeah
Favaz003: Sorry
Favaz003: Add 314
Favaz003: Answer is 2763.2
Favaz003: Sorry
