Answer: Let total land be x.

Land for roads and parks= 2/5x

Land for community hall= 3/8x

Let land for apartment= y

⇒ x-(2/5x+3/8x)= y

X-(16x+15x/40)

X-31x/40

40x-31x/40= y

9/40x= y

Land reserved for apartment= 9/40x

NOW TO FIND THE LARGEST PIECE OF LAND:

LCM of denominators= 40

2/5x:

2×8/5×8

= 16/40x

3/8x:

3×5/8×5

=15/40x

9/40x

= 9/40x

16/40x> 15/40x> 9/40x

2/5x> 3/8x> 9/40x

So, the land reserved for building roads and parks(2/5x) is the largest piece of land.
