Given,

No. of Floors = 12

No. of Flat on 1 floor = 3

=> Total no. of rooms = Product of No. of Floors and No. of flat on 1 floor.

=> Total no. of rooms = (12 x 3)

=> Total no. of rooms = 36

Hence, the total no. of rooms in the whole building is 36.
