There are 540 rooms in building

Solution:

Given that the building has 15 floors. Each floor has 9 flats. Each flat have 4 room

To find: number of rooms in the building

From given question,

Each flat have 4 room

1 flat = 4 rooms

Each floor has 9 flats. Let us calculate the number of rooms in 9 flats

number of rooms in 9 flats = 9 x number of rooms in 1 flat

number of rooms in 9 flats = 9 x 4 = 36

Therefore there are 36 rooms in 9 flats

Thus we can say there are 36 rooms in each floor (since each floor has 9 flats)

The building has 15 floors. So number of rooms in 15 floors are:

number of rooms in 15 floors = 36 x 15 = 540

Thus there are 540 rooms in building
