given
diameter of pillar = 1m
radius of pillars = 1/2m
height of pillar = 4.2cm
rate of paint in pillars = Rs24/m^2
To find = cost of painting
curved surface area of cylinder = 2*pie*r(r+h)
=2*22/7*1/2(1/2+4.2)
=2*22/7*1/2*4.7
=14.78m^2
cost of painting = 24*14.78
=Rs 354.72

Total cost = 2533.38 Rs.

Given:

A building has 8 cylindrical pillars.

Cross sectional diameter is 1 m.

Height is 4.2 m.

To paint these pillars at rate of rs24 per sq m.

Explanation:

Expenditure to paint these pillars.

Formula used:

Surface area cylinder = \pi × (Diameter)× Height

Explanation:

A building has 8 cylindrical pillars.

Top and bottom side of the cylinder is attached to the roof so that it will not be painted.

Diameter of the cylinder = 1m

Height is 4.2 m.

Surface area cylinder = \pi × (Diameter)× Height

Surface area cylinder =  \pi × 1× 4.2

                                    = 13.19 sq. m.

There are 8 pillars are there

Surface area of 8 pillars = 8 × 13.19

                                        = 105.55 sq. m.

To paint these pillars at rate of rs24 per sq m.

Total cost = 105.55 × 24 = 2533.38 Rs.
