Question: The question is incomplete, the entire question is:-

In a residence, 4 tube lights: each of them of 40 W are operated daily for 5 hours, and 3 fans: each of 120 W are operated daily for 4 hours. Calculate the electricity bill at Rs. 5 per unit for September month.

Answer:

The electricity bill for the month of September= Rs.336

Explanation:

Power consumed by 1 tube of light=40W

Power consumed by 4 tube lights=4×40=160W=0.16kW

Energy consumed by 4 tube lights each day =0.16 kW×5 h=0.8kWh

Power consumed by 1 fan =120W

Power consumed by 3 fans =3×120=360W=0.36kW

Energy consumed by 3 fans each day =0.36 kW×4 h=1.44kWh

Total electrical energy consumed per day =0.8+1.44=2.24kWh

∴ Total number of units consumed per day =2.24units

Cost of one unit=Rs.5/unit

Number of days in the month of September=30 days

∴ Electricity bill for the month of September=2.24 units×5 Rs./unit×30=Rs.336
