A building is surmounted by a flag, from a point on the ground 20 meter away
from the foot of a building, the angle of elevation of the top of building and flag
are 45 degree and 60 degree. Find the height of the building and the length of the flag.

For calculation of the height of the building,

In ΔBAD

Tan45°= \frac{BA}{AD}

1=\frac{BA}{20}

BA=20cm

For calculation of the length of the flag,

In ΔCAD

Tan 60°= \frac{CA}{AD}

\sqrt{3} = \frac{CA+BA}{20}

20\sqrt{3} = CB+20

CB=20\sqrt{3} -20

CB=14.64m

The height of the building is 20cm and the length of the flag is 14.64 m.
