P= 40 watt

V=200 volt

I=?

P=VI

40=200*I

40/200=I

I=1/5 Ampere

I=0.25A

The current passing through the bulb is 0.2 A.

Explanation:

It is given that,

Power of the bulb, P = 40 watt

Voltage of the source, V = 200 volts

We need to find the value of current passing through the bulb. It is given by the below relation as :

P=V\times I

I=\dfrac{P}{V}

I=\dfrac{40\ W}{200\ V}

I = 0.2 A

So, the current passing through the bulb is 0.2 A. Hence, this is the required solution.
