A bulb of 60 watt was connected to a line of 240 volt suddenly the voltage drops to 120 Volt what will be the power and current of the bulb​

Explanation:

Power rating of the bulb = 60W

Voltage rating of the bulb = 220V

The resistance of the bulb can be calculated by the heating effect formula:

P = V^2/R

R = (220*220)/60 ohms

Now when the voltage drops to 192 V, R will remain constant as it's a material property;

According to Ohm's law:

I = V/R

I = 192/[(220*220)/60] = 0.238 A

P = V*I

P = 192*192/[(220*220)/60]= 45.699 W
