A bulb of residence 10 ohm connected to an indicator of inductance L in series with an AC voltage source marked 100V , 50 Hz . If the phase angle between voltage & current is x/4 radium. Calculate L and peak value of AC current . What will be current if AC source is replaced by DC source of same voltage

Answer:

Current the both the bulb and teh inductor is same let I.

voltage across the bulb = v

100I

voltage across the inductor v=100−10I

and V = IX

L

= 100 - 10I

and we know tan ϕ =

R

X

L

= 1

ωL = 10

L =

50

10

= 0.5 H

tan 45 =

R

X

L

= 1

X

L

= R = 10 ohm

IX

L

=100−10I

20I=100

I = 5A
