1. This is because of momentum.
Momentum = Mass x Velocity
The bullet will have a higher momentum than the air molecule because it has higher mass.

2. Likewise vehicles moving at high velocity will have higher momentum than vehicles that are moving slowly hence the accidents caused by high-velocity vehicles will be worse.
