a bullet fired with 200m/s retards with a rate of 2m/s2 and hits the wall after 20 seconds. the wall brings the bullet into rest in the next 5 seconds. then the retardation offered by the wall is: 30m/s2 31m/s2 32m/s2 34m/s2

Answer:

Initially for the bullet, u = 200m/s, v =? a= - 2 m/s2, t = 20s

Now, v = u + at

=> v = 200 + (-2)x20 = 160 m/s

Now, for wall, u = 160 m/s, v = 0, t = 5s

So, a = v-u/t = 0-160/5 = - 32 m/s

Hence, retardation offered by wall is 32 m/s
