initial velocity (u)= 10m/s
Final velocity (v) = 0
distance travelled (s) = 100cm
= 1m

using third equation of motion
2as = v2 - u2
2 (a)(1) =(0)^2 -(10)^2
2a = -100
a = -50

so the retardation provided by the wall was 50m/s^2.
