s = 5 cm = 0.05 m

To Find :-

Deceleration of the bullet

Formula to be used :-

3rd equation of motion,

v² -u² = 2as

Solution :-

Putting all the values, we get

v² -u² = 2as

⇒ 0 - (20)² = 2×0.05×a

⇒ 0.1 a = - 400

⇒ a = - 4000 m/s²

Hence, the deceleration of the bullet in the wall is  - 4000 m/s² .
