Initial velocity = 20 m/s

Final velocity = 0 m/s

Distance covered = 5 cm = 0.05 m

Using 3rd equation if uniformly accelerated motion.

 {v}^{2} = {u}^{2} + 2as \\ {0}^{2} = {20}^{2} + 2 \times a \times 0.05 \\ - {20}^{2} = 0.1a \\ 0.1a = - 400 \\ a = \frac{ - 400}{0.1} \\ a = - 4000 \: m {s}^{ - 2}
