Answer:

Thickness =0.1m

V(initial )=300m/s

V(final) =100m/s

Change in v=100-300

=-200

Time=Thickness/change in v

T=0.1/200=5sec

Acceleration =v(final) - v(initial) /t

100-300/5=-200/5 =-40m/s^2

Answer: 4x10^5 m/s^2, 0.0005 s

Explanation:

For finding retardation, use the equation v^2 = u^2 + 2aS

Substituting: (100)^2 = (300)^2 + 0.2a which gives a = -4 X 10^5

So retardation is 4 X 10^5 m/s^2

To find time, use the equation v= u + at

Substituting we get: 100 = 300 - 400000t which gives t= 0.0005 s
