Question

A bullet is fired into air. It reaches to a maximum height 500 m and reaches ground after 5 sec, what is the avg velocity

1) 200m/sec 2) 250m/sec

3) 100 m/sec 4) 0

Solution

We know that,

\mathsf{\fbox{\red{Average\: Velocity = \frac{Displacement}{Total\:time}}}}\\

It is given that the bullet reaches a maximum height of 500m and then reaches ground. Since the initial position and the final position of the bullet is same. So, the net displacement is zero

\mathsf{Average\: Velocity = \frac{Displacement}{Total\:time}}\\

\mathsf{\implies\: \frac{0\: m}{5\: s}}\\

\mathsf{\implies\: 0 \:m/s \: \: \green {(Answer) }}
