A bullet is moving at a speed of 100 m/s when it embeds into a lump of moist clay. The bullet penetrates for a distance of 10 m. Determine the acceleration of the bullet while moving into the clay. (Assume a uniform acceleration.)

We know that S  = u^2 + 2as

                         0  = 100 * 100 + 2a * 10

                             =  10000 + 20a

                         a   = -500
