A bullet leaves a rifle with a muzzle velocity of 1042 m/s . while accelerating through the barrel of the rifle the bullet moves a distance of 1.680m . determine the acceleration of the bullet.​

Answer : Acceleration of the bullet is 

a=323144.048\ m/s^2 \\ a=323144.048 m/s2 .

It is given that,

Initial velocity of the bullet, u = 0

Final velocity of the bullet, v = 1042 m/s

Distance covered by the bullet, s = 1.680 m

Now using third equation of motion

v^2-u^2=2as \\ v2 ^{2} −u ^{2} =2as

(1042\ m/s)^2-0=2a\times 1.680

(1042 m/s)^{2} −0=2a×1.680

a=323144.048\ m/s^2 \\ a=323144.048 m/s2
