Required Answer :

• Velocity of the bullet = 2000 m/s

Explanation :

Given :

  • Mass of bullet = 25 g
  • Momentum = 50 kgm/s

To find :

  • The velocity of the bullet

Solution :

Here, we are given the mass and momentum of the bullet and we need to calculate the velocity of the bullet. To calculate the velocity we will use the formula of momentum. Before calculating the velocity, we will convert the mass of the bullet from g into kg.

As we know,

1 kg = 1000 g

To convert the mass of the bullet into kg, divide it by 1000.

→ Mass of the bullet = 25/1000

→ Mass of the bullet = 0.025

Mass of the bullet = 0.025 kg

Formula of momentum :

p = mv

where,

  • p denotes the momentum
  • m denotes the mass
  • v denotes the velocity

Substituting the given values :

→ 50 = 0.025 × v

→ 50/0.025 = v

→ 2000 = v

Therefore, the velocity of the bullet = 2000 m/s
