A bullet of mass 10 g is fired with a velocity of 400m/s from a hun of mass 4 kg. What is the recall velocity of the gun

By Applying Law of conservation of momentum,

= M1V1 = M2V2

4 * V1 = 0.01 * 400

4 * V1 = 4

V1 = 1


Recoil velocity of the gun = 1 m/s.

Initial momentum = 0
Final momentum = 0.01*400 + 4v

Momentum is conserved
0 = 4 + 4v
v = -1 m/s
(-ve becuase gun moves in opposite direction of bullet)

Recoil velocity of gun is 1 m/s
