A bullet of mass 10 g moving with a velocity of 400m/s or a cricket ball mass 400 g thrown with speed of 90km/h which one have a higherbvalue of momentum

shashwatmehra: here we can clearly see that mass of ball > mass of bullet . and according to momentum p =mv . as both are thrown with same velocity so v doesn't changes and value of momentum is on mass of object . as ball is heavier than bullet , thus ball will have more momentum
shashwatmehra: so sorry I didn't read the full ques ....the above is not the ans

Hey!

________________________

We know that,
Momentum = Mass × Velocity

Momentum of bullet -:

Mass = 10 g = 0.01 kg
Velocity = 400 m/s
Momentum = m×v

Momentum = 0.01×400
Momentum of the bullet = 4 kg m/s

Momentum of cricket ball -:

Mass = 400 g = 0.4 kg
Velocity = 90 km/h = 25 m/s
Momentum = m×v

Momentum = 0.4×25
Momentum = 10 kg m/s

Thus , we can now see who has a greater momentum. Cricket ball is having greater momentum.

Heya.......!!!!

We know that Momentum = Mass × Velocity .

1.) in first case of bullet
=> mass = 10g = 10/1000 => 1/100 Kg
velocity = 400 m/s
➡ Momentum = mv = 400 × 1/100 = 4 Kgm/s

2.) in case of Cricket ball
=> Mass = 400 g => 400/1000 = >> 4/10 Kg
Velocity => 90km/h = 90 ×5/18 = 25 m/sec .
➡Momentum = M×V = 4/10 × 25 = 10 Kgm/s

So ,,, =>>cricket ball has higher value of momentum .
