A bullet of mass 10. gm fired with velocity 400m/s after passing through a wooden plank of thickness 50cm its velocity become 100m/s . calculate the average resistance offered by wooden plank.

u=300m/s

v=200m/s

s=20cm=0.20m

m=10g=0.01kg

3rd equation of motion,

2as=v2−u2

retardation, a=−125000m/s2

The resistance force, F=ma

F=0.01×125000

F=1250N
