ANSWER

Mass of the bullet is m =10gm=0.01Kg

Initial velocity of bullet u =100m/s

Final velocity is v =0m/s

(1) Initial momentum of bullet Pi = m x u

= 1 Kgm/s

(2) Final momentum of bullet Pf = m x v

=0.01×0=0

(3) Retardation occurred by the wooden block is

v^2 −u^2 =2as

or, -(10)^2 = 2 x a x 0.05

hence , a = -1000 m/s^2

v = u + at

0 = 10 - 1000 x t

t = 1 / 100 sec
