A bullet of mass 10g is fired with a gun. The bullet takes 0.003 sec to move through its barrel and leaves it with a velocity of 300m/s. What is the force exerted on the bullet by the gun?

Initial velocity (u) = 300m/s

To find:-

Force exerted on the bullet

By applying, v - u = at

0 - 300 = a×0.003

300 = 0.003a

a = 300/0.003

= 100000m/s^2.

By applying, F = ma

= 0.01×100000

= 1000N.
