Answer:

15 \times 500 = 5000 \times x \\  \frac{7500}{5000 }  = x \\  \frac{3}{2}  = x \\ 1.5m \:  {s}^{  -  1 }  \\

I mean by recoil velocity that the force exerted by a gun in opposite direction to maintain the momentum of gun created by firing the bullet.

Answer:we have

M1=15g=0.015kg

M2=5kg

U1=0m/s

U2=0m/s

V2=500m/s we have to find recoil velocity

Explanation:we know that,

M1.U2 +M2.U2=M1.V2+M2.V2

0.015×0+5×0=0.015×500+5×V2

0=75/10+5V2

0=7.5+5V2

-7.5=5V2

V2=-7.5/5

V2=1.5m/s Answer

Recoil velocity means the gun comes back after fired the bullet so, recoil velociy is -1.5m/s.
