Use conservation of momentum

M1v1 =-m2v2

0.2x 150 = - 2 v2

0.1 x 150 = - v2

V2 = - 15 m/s

Answer:

Explanation:

Mass of bullet = 20g=20×10^-3kg. Velocity of bullet= 150m/s

Mass of pistol = 2kg

Velocity of pistol = ?

From the conservation of momentum=

Mass of pistol ×velocity of pistol= mass of bullet ×velocity of bullet

Therefore velocity of pistol = mass of bullet × velocity of bullet÷ mass of pistol.

20×10^-3×150÷2=1.5m/s
