Given :-

Mass of gun = M = 100 Kg

Mass of bullet = m = 200 g = 0.2 Kg

Velocity of bullet = v = 30 ms-¹

Let the velocity of gun recoiling = V

As we know that Momentum of the system will be conserved.

MV = mv

100V = (0.2)(30)

V = 6/100

V = 0.06 ms-¹

Hence,

The recoil velocity of Gun = V = 0.06 ms-¹.

Here,

The velocity of gun will be in opposite side of the bullet fired. If the mass of gun will be more then it will hurt more to our shoulders.
