a bullet of mass 20g and moving with 600m/s collides with a block of mass 4kg hanging with string. What is velocity of bullet when it comes out of block if block rises to height 0.2m after collision???

Here i considered the system to be in vertical osscilatory motion.

**Shyd step 1 samajh aa jaaye yaa agr naa aaye to attachement 2 dekhna**

In the attachment at point P velocity of block becomes zero i.e.

considering it to be an oscillatory motion ¼ evolution has been completed till point P .

Now conserving energy at point P and A.

finally the velocity of the block which we get at position a is under root 2gh which is independent of length of the pendulum or the system .

this is what I used in the first step in solving this question .
