Hey !!!!

their is no external force on the system (bullet +pistol) so the momentum remains conserved

m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2

here both bullet and pistol were at rest initially
so initial momentum(m1u1 +m2u2) =0

so m1v1+m2v2=0_____(1)

m1=mass of bullet =20g=0.02kg
m2=mass of pistol=2kg
v1=final velocity of bullet =150m/s
v2=final velocity of pistol

so substituting in formula
we get

v2= -m1v1/m2

= -0.02 ×150/2 = -1.5m/s

____

Thanks !!!
