A bullet of mass 25g is fired horizontally with a velocity of 100m/s from gun of mass 5 kg.Calculate the recoil of velocity of gun.Also find total change in momentum of the system

Explanation:

as per conservation of momentum principle,

0.025*100=5*v

v= 2.5/5= 0.5 m/s

therefore recoil velocity of gun is 0.5 m/s
