Given:-

→Mass of bullet(m)=25g

→Velocity of the bullet(v)=100m/s

Mass of the gun(M)=5kg

To find:-

→Recoil velocity of the gun(V)

Solution:-

Firstly,let's convert the mass of the bullet from kg to g.

=>1g=0.001kg

=>25g=25(0.001)

=>0.025kg

By using Law of Conservation of momentum,we get:-

=>M(-V)+mv=0

=>V=mv/m

=>V=0.025×100/5

=>V=0.5m/s

Thus,recoil velocity of the gun is 0.5m/s.

Some Extra Information:-

Conservation of momentum:When external force acting on a system is zero,the total momentum of the system remains constant. This is known as Conservation of momentum.
