Impulse = change in momentum
= Final momentum - intial momentum
Bullet finally comes to rest , so, final momentum = 0
Intial momentum = mass of bullet × intial velocity of bullet
= 0.06kg × 500 m/s = 30Kgm/s
Hence, impulse = 0 - 30 Kgm/s = -30 Kgm/s
Now, force = impulse/time
= 30/0.01 = 3000N
= Final momentum - intial momentum
Bullet finally comes to rest , so, final momentum = 0
Intial momentum = mass of bullet × intial velocity of bullet
= 0.06kg × 500 m/s = 30Kgm/s
Hence, impulse = 0 - 30 Kgm/s = -30 Kgm/s
Now, force = impulse/time
= 30/0.01 = 3000N
