a bullet penetrates the 10 cm thick wall . Its initial and final velocities are 150 m/s and 100 m/s . what is the time of penetration of the bullet and how much is the retardation produced

v2 - u2 = 2as

or retardation will be

a = (v2 - u2) / 2s

here,

u = 50 m/s

v = 0

s = 10cm = 0.1m

so,

a = (0 - 502) / 2x0.1

thus,

a = -12500 m/s2
