Given:

A bullet train start from rest and moves with uniform acceleration 0.12m/s².

Time = 5 minutes

To find:

  • Final velocity after 5 minutes.
  • Distance covered after 5 minutes.

Solution:

Rate of acceleration = 0.12 m/s².

Time = 5 minutes.

Final velocity = (Rate of acceleration × Time)

                     = (0.12 ×5×60) [∵ 1 minute = 60 seconds.]

                    = 36 m/s.

∴ The final velocity of the train is 36 m/s.

Distance = (velocity × Time)

              = (36×5×60) [∵ 1 minute = 60 seconds.]

             = 10800 m

             = (10800÷1000) km [∵ 1 km = 1000 m.]

              = 10.8 km.

∴ The distance covered by the train after 5 minutes is 10.8 km.

Answer:

            Velocity = 36 m/s ².

             Distance = 10.8 km.
