A bullet travelling with a velocity of 16m/s penetrates a tree trunk and comes to rest after travelling 0.4m into it. assuming constant acceleration, find the time taken during its motion in trunk and magnitude of deceleration

v=om/s
s=0.4m
a=-9.8m/s
V=U+at
0 =16+(-9.8×t)
-16=-9.8t
t=16/9.8
t =1.632s

initial velocity,u= 16 m/s
final velocity,v =0m/s
acceleration,a=-9.81m/s²according to the question we have to use the first equation of motion that is
v = u +at
0=16+(-9.81×t)
-9.81t=16
t=16/-9
=-1.7
