A bullet with muzzle velocity 10√10 ms is to be shot at a target 50 m away in the same horizontal line. The height above the target must the rifle to be aimed so that the bullet will hit the target

Time taken by bullet to reach the target
T = Distance / Speed
= 50 / 10√10
= √2.5 seconds

Height above the target should be
H = 0.5gT^2
= 0.5 × 10 × (√2.5)^2
= 5 × 2.5
= 12.5 m

Height above the target should be 12.5 m
