Answer:

A young man asked Socrates the Secret of Success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met.

Socrates asked the young man to walk with him towards the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The man struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until he started turning blue. The young man struggled hard and finally managed to get out and the first thing he did was to gasp and take deep breath.

Socrates asked ‘What you wanted the most when you were there?’

The man replied ‘Air’.

Socrates said ‘that’s the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted air, you will get it. There is no other secret’

A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results. The motivation to succeed comes from the burning desire to achieve a purpose.

Answer:

The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates is well known for establishing the groundwork for Western philosophy. The secret of success according to Socrates is reflected in the summary of a short story given below:

Socrates was questioned by a young man about the key to success. The young man was instructed by Socrates to meet him the following morning beside the river. Socrates requested the young man to stroll with him toward the river when they first met. Socrates seized the young man by surprise and ducked him into the sea as the water reached their necks. The man fought to escape, but Socrates held him underwater until he began to turn blue. After much effort, the young man was able to stand up. He gasped and took a long breath as his first action. ''What did you most desire while you were underwater?” asked Socrates.

"Air," the man said.

That's the biggest success secret, according to Socrates. we will achieve success when we desire it as much as man wanted air. No other secret exists. It is only when we are desperate that we learn to work hard and hard work fetches us success.
