Answer:

0.5 m/s^2 and 175 m

Explanation:

According to the given question,

u = initial velocity = 54 km/hr

= 54 ×1000/3600 = 54×5/18 = 15 m/s

v = final velocity = 72 km/hr

= 72×5/18 = 20 m/s

t = time = 10 sec

a = acceleration and s = displacement

And we are asked to find the acceleration and displacement.

Here displacement is equal to distance as the direction is not changing.

We know,

  • v = u+at

  • a = v-u/t

  • a = 20-15/10

  • a = 0.5 m/s^2 ans.

And,

  • s = ut+1/2 at^2

  • s = 15×10+1/2 × 0.5 × 100

  • s = 150 + 25

  • s = 175 m ans.

Thus acceleration of the bus is 0.5 m/s^2 and distance covered by it is 175 m ans.
