capacity of diesel required to cover a distance of 90 km = 25 l
capacity required to cover a distance of 1 km = 90/25 l = 3.6 l

capacity of diesel required to cover the distance of 288 km = 3.6 × 288 => 1036.8 litres
hope this helps
