GIVEN :

Initial velocity, u = 80 km/hr = 22.2 m/s

Final velocity, v = 60 km/h = 16.7 m/s

time, t = 5 sec.

TO FIND :

Acceleration, a = ?

FORMULA :

Acceleration, \sf a \: = \: \dfrac {v-u}{t}

SOLUTION :

u = 22.2 m/s

v = 16.7 m/s

t = 5 sec.

acceleration, a = ?

Here, u = Initial velocity.

v = final velocity.

t = time.

a = acceleration.

Acceleration, \sf \: a \: = \: \dfrac {v-u}{t}

a \: = \: 16.7 \: - \: \dfrac {22.2}{5}

a \: = \: \dfrac {-5.5}{5}

-1.1 \: m/s^{2}

\therefore The acceleration of the body is  -1.1 \: m/s^{2}
