A bus is moving with 80 k m h − 1 . The brakes are applied and the velocity of the bus reduces to 45 k m h − 1 . The magnitude of average acceleration of the bus is 3.5 m s − 2 . Calculate the distance covered by the bus.

final velocity ,u = 45km h-1 =12.5m s-1
inital velocity v, = 80 km h-1=22.2m s-1
acceleration,a=3.5ms-1
distance covered,s=?

formula used
v^2=u^2+2as
(22.2)^2=(12.5)^2+2*3.5*s
492.84=156.25+7s
s=98.08m
