A bus is running with a velocity of 72 kilometre per hour. on seeing a boy on the road 65m ahead, the driver jammed on the brakes and the bus stopped with uniform retardation 5m per S square. Calculate the distance travelled by the bus and discuss whether the accident took place or not ? give me answer immediately.....

Answer:

distance travelled by the bus is 40 m and hence the accident is avoided as the boy is standing 65m away

Explanation:

firstly we will find the time taken by the bus to stop and then we can find the distance travelled by the bus afer the breaks are applied

so,

v = om/s

u = 72 × 5/ 18        ( converting it into m/s by multiplying it with 5/18)

  = 20m/s

a = - 5m/s^2          ( -ve sign as accerlation is _ve of the retardation )

by applying identity  v = u +at

0 = 20 - 5 t

t = 4s

now   s = ut + 1/2 at^2

s = 20 × 4 + 1/2× ( -5 ) × 4×4

= 80 - 40

= 40m
