Answer:

leaving time of place A =8:30 AM

arrival time of place B= 10:30 AM

total distance between place A and place B=80 km

rest time at place B=30 minutes [10:30-11:00]

leaving time of place B=11:00 AM

arrival time of place C=01:00 PM

total distance between place B and place C=60 km

AVERAGE SPEED= TOTAL DISTANCE

---------------------------------

TOTAL TIME

80 km + 60 km

=----------------------------

2 hours+2 hours

(8:30-10:30=2 hours and 11:00-01:00=2 hours)

140 km

=. ---------------

4 hours

=> AVERAGE SPEED=35km/h

speed = distance/time

now from AToB =80km

taken time = 8:30 to 10:30

Explanation:

speed = distance/time

now from AToB =80km

taken time = 8:30 to 10:30 =3 hrs

now speed = distance/time

=80/3

= 25 so speed = 25 kmph
