Answer:

= 2880/1000 km. = 2.88 km.

Explanation:

Speed of Ranjeet = 50 km/hr

Total distance covered by Ranjeet in 8 hrs = 50 × 8 = 400 km

Speed of Rahman = 400/5 = 80 km/hr

New speed of Ranjeet = 50 + 10 = 60 km/hr

New speed of Rahman = 80 + 20 = 100 km/hr

Time taken by Ranjeet to cover 400 km distance = 400/60 = 6 hr 40 min

Time taken by Rahman to cover 400 km distance = 400/100 = 4 hr

Required difference = 6 hr + 40 min – 4 hr = 2 hr + 40 min

Provided that:

  • Average speed = 50 kmph
  • Time taken = 4 hours

To calculate:

  • The distance

Solution:

  • The distance = 200 km

Using concept:

  • Average speed formula

Using formula:

  • {\small{\underline{\boxed{\sf{v \: = \dfrac{s}{t}}}}}}

Where, v denotes average speed, s denotes distance and t denotes time.

Required solution:

:\implies \sf v \: = \dfrac{s}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf 50 \: = \dfrac{s}{4} \\ \\ :\implies \sf 50 \times 4 \: = s \\ \\ :\implies \sf 200 \: = s \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 200 \: kilometres \\ \\ :\implies \sf Distance \: = 200 \: kilometres
