U=18 km/h

 = 18\times \frac{1000}{3600}
=5m/S
v=0m/s
t= 2.5s

as we know retardation is negative accleration
acceleration =change in velocity
a =  \frac{v - u}{t}
a =  \frac{0 - 5}{2.5}
a =  \frac{ - 5}{2.5}
a=-2 m/s^2
