v = 0

t = 2.5 sec

so,

v = u + at

0 = 18 + a* 2.5

- 18 = 2.5 a

-18/2.5 = a

- 7.2 m/s² = a

so,

retardation = - acceleration

= - (-7.2)

= 7.2
