A bus running at a speed of 30km/hr. leaves Trivandrum at 10am and another bus running at a speed of 40km/hr. leaves the same place at
3pm in the same direction. How many kilometers from Trivandrum will they be together?​

The difference between 10am and 3pm is 2+3 = 5 hrs.

Distance covered by the first bus in 5 hrs at the speed of 30km/hr is 5×30 = 150 km

So to catch the first the second bus has to travel 150 km more than of the first bus.

Speed of the second bus = 40 km/hr.

So difference of their speed = 40–30 =10km/hr

So time taken by the second bus to catch first bus = 150/10 = 15 hrs.

So after 15 hrs the second will catch the first.

Distance travelled by the second in 15 hrs = 15×40 =600 km

So at a distance of 600 km from Trivandrum they will be together.
