Answer: (c) 3:20 p.m.

Given,

  • Total Distance = 225 km
  • Starting Time = 10:20 a.m.
  • Distance covered = 90 km
  • Time taken = 2 hours

To find,

  • Time at which the village would be reached.

Solution:

Let's calculate the speed of the bus by taking the initial distance and time into consideration.

→ Speed = Distance Covered / Time Taken

→ Speed = 90 km / 2 hr

→ Speed = 45 km/hr

Time after covering 90 km = 10:20 a.m + 2 hrs = 12:20 p.m.

Remaining Distance for reaching the village is:

→ 225 km - 90 km = 135 km

Time taken for covering the distance = Distance / Speed

→ Time = 135 km / 45 km/hr

→ Time = 3 hrs

Hence the ending time while reaching the village would be:

→ 12:20 p.m. + 3 hrs = 3:20 p.m.

Hence the bus would reach the village by 3:20 p.m.

Hence Option (C) is the correct answer.
